Especially if you work at a desk. I always have to get up and stretch my legs at least for a few minutes every hour.
Your Health & Wellness Circuit
I try to get up and move around the office at least every 90 minutes. I usually manage to get that done. Some days I am all over the place for work but usually I get up and move about 5 times per day.
I'm up and down all of the time. I can't sit in one position or stand (particullary on a concrete floor) for any amount of time because of back problems.
Staying sane and healthy?
So the holidays can be magical and a little chaotic. Between the treats, the tech, the family, shopping, and the to-do lists, it’s easy to lose track of our health and peace of mind.
So lets talk about it -
Whether it’s physical, mental, or tech-powered, what’s one thing you’re doing to stay healthy this season?
This season is a busy one for me. I handle year-end closings at work, so it’s already a demanding period, and on top of that, my family lives far away, so I also need to travel, prepare the trip, organize gifts, and manage remote work.
It’s physical, mental… a bit of everything.
But honestly, it’s a beautiful kind of exhaustion.
Staying healthy for me means embracing the balance: growing professionally while reconnecting with my family ... my true source of energy.
Health Insurance
In the U.S., employers with 50 or more full-time employees are required by law to offer affordable health insurance. Small businesses with fewer than 50 full-time employees do not have to provide health insurance for their employees.
Does your employer offer health insurance or do you buy it on your own? If you have insurance, have you noticed an increase in your premium? If your premium skyrockets, would you abandon your health insurance?
Hopefully we, in the US, are at a tipping point toward universal healthcare. The sudden and unnecessary spike in costs due to political reasons, may be just the thing to force the change needed.
Fortunate I don't have to contend with this dilemma, granted in some instances I've elected for critical illness insurance. At a minimum you should ensure you have basic healthcare coverage if not covered by employment.
IIRC, there was a great deal of scientific research on meditation several years ago by a group at U of Penn. They found several positive, organic benefits in the brain itself as well as positive changes in mood, outlook, creativity, and other areas.
Now that was several years ago since I followed the research so there may be more to it now.
Even a few moments just to reset can make you way more productive in your day.

How 15 Minutes transformed my Mental Health
We’re never really “okay”—and that’s perfectly normal.
The truth is, I’ve always struggled with quietly carrying stress while looking strong on the outside. By opening up in my video about the simple habit of taking daily photos, I hope to challenge the idea that there’s only one right way to care for your mind. Let’s normalize small, personal moments that make a big impact.
https://youtu.be/PMRPTvdfo5s
Thanks for sharing! I'm definitely going to watch the full video when I have the time. Managing stress is something that I've always struggled with.... After I watch, hopefully I can discover a hobby of my own to manage it better.
After an intense or difficult session online, I spend twenty to thirty minutes cuddling and playing with my two cats.
Let’s Talk Nervous System Regulation (Without the Buzzwords)
Nervous system regulation is all over our feeds right now—but beyond the buzzwords, what does it actually look like in real life? Maybe it’s a walk before work, box breathing between meetings, or finally setting boundaries that stick. What habits, tools, or mindset shifts have helped you feel more grounded, calm, and resilient lately?
For me, I usually just step outside to get some sun and breathe in some fresh air. Other times I’ll go for a short walk, do a few stretches or just listen to some of my favorite music. Simple things like that really help me reset!
I find that making a lot of small changes usually add up to way more than making just one big change. So, I always take the stairs instead of an elevator, I try to walk wherever I can instead of driving, and if I absolutely must drive, I always park in the first open spot I see instead of circling the lot until I find the closet one.
Money on your mind? Financial Literacy is a good start.
Hey there community...we are thinking of doing a small workshop around financial literacy, specifically re creating a budget, managing debt, saving and investing in retirement. This is all about financial wellbeing as knowing is half the battle. Would you be interested in attending and if so, how long or short would you like it to be. We usually conduct this workshop at 2 hours per subject (ie 8 hours all in) so its over 2 to 4 days depending but would love to hear from you what you would like?
Hi Patrick, this sounds like a fantastic idea! Financial literacy is so important, and breaking it down into manageable topics makes it easier to digest.
I’d definitely be interested in attending. Personally, I think shorter sessions maybe around 1 to 1.5 hours each would be great, so it’s easier to fit into a busy schedule. Spreading it out over a few days or weeks would also help with retaining the info.
This is a great topic that they should teach us in school before we enter the so called real world.
Health and Wellness Apps?
Do you use any? 🤔
I've found MyFitnessPal helpful for tracking calories and losing weight (not sponsored, lol).
I wish there was a health app where I could just like... take a picture of what I was eating and it could just know how many calories that was. Having to enter that stuff is a pain in the rear.
hi there, what we found is that health apps tend to lose their actual potency as there is no engagement. As part of Eleu health what we do is inform you of the education behind the vitals and then show you how, which means alot more engagement and participation. Not sure if this helps but our view is apps are collecting data, after that you need to knwo what to do why its important and how to take care of it. No diagnosis or consultations just info
Financial wellness isn’t just about having more—it’s about feeling secure, supported, and confident in your decisions.
Many of us have access to wellness programs or employer-sponsored benefits that can actually make a real impact on our financial lives. But too often, we don’t take full advantage of what’s already available.
At Eleu, we’re exploring how workplace support can reduce money stress and help build healthier financial habits.
What benefits, tools, or habits have helped you feel more financially well?
Or—what would you love to see added to your wellness offerings?
Let’s start the conversation.
Begin saving and investing early on. Basic finance should be taught in schools at the appropriate grade levels. Companies that offer regular financial management seminars would be a big benefit to employees.
Favorite Health and Wellness Tips
Please share your favorite health and wellness tips for a busy schedule in a more sedentary office space.
Like others have said, just get up a walk a little bit. I'm trying to do this more. Sitting for too long can cause all sorts of inflammation in the body, but standing up and moving even a little immediately stops the process.
Always get up and walk around during the day - get away from your desk and take a walk at lunchtime.
Finance health
A fast internet connection and a fast PC is what brokers had over investors. Those days are over, the average investor has to first invest in hardware, next find a firm that has stops in the software. Learn to use stops long and short, this takes time and effort. Very serious business. Adults only
Algo trading vs joining the House or Senate... I wonder which would yield the best results over a 20 year span.
Tech & Sleep: A Modern Dilemma
We rely on technology for everything—from staying connected to winding down at the end of the day. But how does screen time, late-night notifications, and constant connectivity affect our sleep quality? And more importantly, what can professionals do to improve their rest while balancing demanding schedules?
Do you have a bedtime tech rule, like no screens an hour before sleep? Or do you use blue light filters, sleep tracking apps, or smart devices to optimize your rest?
Drop your best tips (or struggles!) below—your insights might help someone finally get that much-needed deep sleep!
I turn my phone's blue light filter mode on when I go to bed, and I try to use it as little as possible in bed. I also have either a boring podcast, someone quiet playing a relaxing game, or some softer electronica playing that I fall asleep to.
What Kinda Sleeper Are You? 💤
I've been a lifelong stomach sleeper, but heard it may be better to sleep on your side or back.
So I've been going to bed on my back, waking up during the night on my side, and starting the morning on my stomach. 😂
What about you? 🤔
Can something as simple as 10 squats every 45 minutes actually make a difference?
There’s been a growing conversation around micro-movements during the workday—tiny bursts of activity that break up long periods of sitting. One of the most talked-about trends lately? Doing 10 squats every 45 minutes.
The science behind it is interesting: short movement breaks like this have been linked to better circulation, improved focus, and even long-term health benefits. Some studies suggest these small actions might help counteract the effects of sedentary time—without needing a full workout.
But how does it actually feel in practice? Does it really boost energy? Improve posture? Or is it just one more trend in a sea of wellness hacks?
Curious to know—has anyone tried it?
What happened when you did?
And if not, would you consider experimenting with it for a week just to see?
Let’s talk about it.
I think something like this is good, in theory, but you have to remember that being strict about it will be self-defeating. There will always be meetings, schedules, projects, etc. that will prevent you from doing this regularly. Give yourself grace for those "oops, totally forgot" moments as well. If the goal is to prevent 'desk bod' then anything you do to get up and get moving regularly will help! Set alarms but don't beat yourself up over missing one or three.
For sure it would help. If you make it more reps (20) and extend the time to one hour twice a day, you would definitely get more benefits.

Here I am trying to still kick this terrible cold... been going on for almost 2 weeks now. Thankfully it's almost over with, I hope!
Financial wellness isn’t just about how much you earn...
Financial wellness isn’t just about how much you earn—it’s about how confidently you manage, plan, and align your resources with your long-term well-being.
What’s one financial habit you’ve adopted that has given you the most peace of mind? I started by making a budget for work and home. When I saw how much I was spending at Starbucks, I cut it out and started making my coffee at home instead.
Whether it’s budgeting, investing, or a mindset shift, your insight could help someone else on their journey!
Taking care of not having too many subscriptions and not carrying ANY credid card debt are two worthy goals.
Having worked in the area of consumer finance and bankruptcy, I can say that losing the "Keeping up with the Joneses" mindset is quite freeing. The Joneses are broke (though they won't tell you). FOMO and "living your best life" are prone to some of the same negative consequences. Fiscal responsibility is usually focused on minimizing spending today in order to ensure a secure financial future. It is better to own a basket of carrots than to be constantly chasing the carrot.
Burnout can sneak up on the best of us -
Whether it’s from work, caregiving, or life in general. What’s one small habit or practice that helps you recharge before burnout takes over? And if burnout does hit, what helps you get back on the horse? Let’s crowdsource some real-life strategies we can all lean on.
Plan breaks so you aren't pushing yourself to the limit each and every day. Build in time to recover from stress.
Just like a engine, a mind needs cooling and rest to reduce the heat/stress!
After the rest, you can reach the same productivity or even greater!
“When you’re on, be on. When you’re off, be off.”
Setting work-life boundaries can feel like walking a tightrope—especially when you’re chasing success. CEO Patrick Freiwah of Eleu Health shares how to draw the line without holding yourself back.
Do you struggle more with setting boundaries at work—or sticking to the ones you set?
Drop your biggest boundary challenge in the comments. Let’s open the conversation.
It's super important to have some time for you! And I don't mean to work on what you want to. I mean having time to relax in the way that heals you best.
I struggle with setting work boundaries. Especially since I work from home, work is always there with me and there is little incentive to turn my laptop off at the end of the day and not think about work. It's just so hard to draw the line sometimes when the physical separation is not there.
April 1st Daily Challenge: 10 Squats every 45 minutes 💪 (no joke!)
It is April 1st and I've accepted the challenge to do 10 squats every 45 minutes during the workday. If you join in today or sometime this week, post your challenge proof and share what you think! 💪
Sounds good. I would join you, but I have a bad knee. I'm holding off on any exercise besides walking until I've lost at least 40 more pounds. Hopefully that will make a re-injury less likely.

Thanks for the video. I agree that leadership has a role in ensuring well-being. Competence and autonomy start with hiring the right people, and then guiding them within the company culture. There is more to it, like managing personalities and conflict, but making employee well-being a priority is a good start.
Excellent video! Really appreciate you going in more depth on the ideas behind eudaimonic wellbeing and the role leadership plays in fostering it. I think you're spot on about loyalty to a company vs a person. With the lack of leadership at the very top, turns out my loyalty was to my supervisor as they always helped me figure out the best way to encourage my wellbeing and watched out for me. When they left, so did any sense of belonging and loyalty to the company. I'd honestly jump ship with them if I could, but I'm gonna stick it out in the short term to see how leadership responds to create a sense of belonging again at the org.
How Do You Keep Your Baby Safe When You’re Sick?
Dr. Ivi shares key advice on protecting your infant when you’re under the weather—from masks and handwashing to the role of breastfeeding. But every family’s experience is different.
What has worked for you? What hasn’t? Share your thoughts in the comments. Let’s start the conversation.
This is great info. My son got sick more often than I did, and i am pretty sure that he never got sick from me.
This information is also useful for teachers and childcare professionals. Thank you.
Thank you for creating and sharing this Patrick Freiwah! Very insightful advice! How do you make the determination when something is well-done but not perfect? What specifically constitutes something as showtime-ready? Is it 90% great or is it just a gut feeling that something's ready?
Strengthening Workplace Connections: What Works for You?
We all know that good work relationships make the job easier (and more enjoyable), but staying socially connected—especially in hybrid or remote settings—can be tricky. What do you actually do to build connections with your colleagues? Maybe it’s a quick Slack check-in, a standing lunch date, or just making the effort to chat before meetings. What’s worked for you, and what’s been a challenge?
I try to reach out if I haven't touched base with someone in a while. I also try to be a good listener and take the time to help when asked. I also love sharing humor with them too/having fun with people I work with (if they have that type of personality).
Happy hours, lunch outings, chatting on breaks. Outside of day-to-day workers, seminars.
