Community building ๐ทโโ๏ธ is very important!
In case of any emergencies you should make local connections so one may help each other!
Fully remote team building
Anyone have tips for fully virtual team building, both in a 1:1 supervisory capacity and within smaller teams of 3-5? We mostly use zoom and slack and have very few opportunities to meet up in person outside of conferences one or twice a year. Generally all millennials or younger.
My opinion would be to try a poll to see what you team is interested in. There's virtual options like Jackbox games, book clubs, meditation, yoga, etc depending on what people enjoy.
Zoom has the option to display your screen, but when I think 1:1 remote I immediately think of remote client like Remmina and Windows App, which are commonly used by IT to assist users without presence there. The difficulty with remote team building is that most team building exercises are synchronous, but a lot of remote work is asynchronous. But there are asynchronous forms of community building which could be used as team building. Book clubs are one of those. You can change the reading material to something topical and it would probably be a great way of building camaraderie within an asynchronous work life.
Can anyone recommend some good Gluten-Free recipes; Or a good source for them?
I have a friend that is in his 60's; and a few months ago found he was allergic to Gluten. So he has cut out all foods containing gluten. Was at lunch with him and he could not order "wings" because they only made breaded ones. And he ordered a sandwich on a roll, but did not eat the roll. Looking are any recipes that he might be able to make; and help make his food life a bit better.
Thanks,
PS: He used to make yeast breads and his own pizza. Are there any good substitutes for actual wheat flour?
I would just check Pinterest or google. There's usually a gluten-free version of any recipe you can possibly think of. I mostly use Bob's Red Mill multipurpose flour. It works great with almost every recipe.

Verification issues submitting any of your entries? Let's get it sorted!
Due to the fraud detection process in Gleam, this can happen when a user is entering from an IP or location that has been previously flagged for unwanted online behavior. You may be prompted to verify yourself via Google or social media, as this is the quickest way to confirm your identity.
Otherwise, we suggest the following:
Avoid entering from a shared location like a school, workplace, hotel, or library
Turn off any active VPN (as these are commonly used for fraud)
Log in to the giveaway via a secure WiโFi connection instead of cellular data
Restart your connection (since some ISPs recycle IP addresses)
Conference Survival Tips
Summer is here, and for those of us in tech or gaming, its going to be a very busy few months. Towards the end of summer there's Devcom and Gamescom, in July there is SIGGRAPH, and of course in June you have the whole summer of gaming month, with COMPUTEX, Sony State of Play, Summer Games Fest and more.
Even if you're not in tech, its a busy time for health and many, many other fields.
With so much travel coming up, I wanted to ask everyone what their best tips were for surviving business travel/the conference season? For me, staying hydrated on planes, carrying headphones with ANC, and making sure to have wet wipes, hand sanitizer and Vitamin C on hand have been a godsend.
How about everyone else? Excited to learn new things from yall!
I try, as much as reasonably possible, to keep to my sleep/wake schedule as well as my eating/snacking routine. Conferences I've attended usually are in another time zone that messes me up a bit, but my body responds best if I keep to what it's accustomed to doing through the week.
have hard candies or mints to suck on in case mouth gets dry, have tissues, allergy medicine, aspirin as well las bottle water.
