The very first real computer I owned was the TRS-80 Color Computer. Adjusted for today’s dollars, it cost $1,457 and came with just 4K of memory—not 4GB, not even 4MB, but 4K. I later spent the equivalent of $435 to upgrade it to a whopping 16K.
I eventually sold it for a small profit and used the money to buy my true first love—the Apple II+. It's kinda crazy to think how far we've come since then—and even crazier to imagine how far we might still go.
