My experience and the skills I acquired through working as an EMT/Firefighter outside of DC, as a wildland firefighter with five years of leadership roles, and as an owner of a small business have made me a diverse member of the community. I have a great passion for all things outdoors and truly enjoy teaching and sharing this love and respect for the outdoors with all.
With my background as a Wildland Firefighter and Squad Leader, coupled with my commitment to fostering growth and a strong sense of camaraderie among team members, I believe I possess the unique blend of skills and qualities that create positive impacts in the community.
During my tenure as a Squad Leader in wildland firefighting, I honed my ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of individuals in challenging environments. Camping on the fireline outside of cell service for extended periods, I developed a deep sense of trust and collaboration with my squad. This experience required not only a strong command presence but also patience, understanding, and empathy to navigate the complexities of high-stakes situations. These skills have equipped me to adapt to dynamic and fast-paced environments.
Moreover, my commitment to community service is reflected in my voluntary work with the Northern Virginia Fire Department. This experience not only sharpened my leadership skills but also instilled in me a passion for fostering a sense of community and support.
