Shipping in March, Huawei's latest smartphone to feature HarmonyOS Next

Blog/Article

I find this article very interesting related to the global technology market. With the US attempting to stymie foreign countries by withholding US technology from them, it has only made these foreign countries more determined and passionate about developing their own home-grown technology. In May 2019, Google stopped licensing the Android operating system to China-based Huawei in response to a US trade blacklist. HarmonyOS Next is Huawei's alternative operating system replacement for Android, and I believe the launch of its new smartphone in China/Asia is going to be an eye-opener to the US tech industry. I'm really curious to see what happens over the next year.
