Looking for some good, maybe traditional family recipes, for some desserts that will go well with Coffee in the morning (or any time of day).
Going to try modifying a Biscotti Recipe to make it Pumpkin based myself. (NOT pumpkin spice!)

I have used this "base" recipe, since a co-worker's wife made it for a wine tasting party over 30 year ago. I have made the following modifications with all of them still being very good:
1) Don't add Citrus Zest. Did not have it one day, and it still tasted great.
2) Replace BUTTER, with Apple Sauce. This cuts the calories some.
3) Plan this year is to replace the Butter with Canned Pumpkin.
4) I have made versions with all Whole Wheat Flour. (With butter, or with Applesauce). When made with apple sauce (or pumpkin) this is really a healthy snack/dessert/cookie.
5) Have also made drop cookies using this exact same recipe (and it's mods above). When I was lazy and did not have the time to bake twice... LOL
Without butter, the dough is a little more "sticky". But even an imperfect looking loaf, tends to smooth out as it rises and bakes, I tend to try and make most every recipe healthier if I can...
Make sure to use fresh ground black pepper, as this adds that special flavor.
And Roasting the walnuts beforehand, (as you preheat the oven), also makes them more flavorful.
