Here’s a proven playbook for boosting your eCommerce revenue, which I personally used to generate monthly recurring revenue (MRR) for my own business! While there are many paid media strategies out there, this specific approach is tailored for TikTok ads, which has proven highly effective in driving results.

Scaling Your Ad Campaigns: Day 1 & Day 2 Strategy

Day 1: Initial Scaling

After testing and determining whether your ad account favors Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) or Ad Set Budget Optimization (ABO), you're ready to scale. You can choose to run either 5 CBO campaigns or 1 ABO campaign based on your preferred approach.

ABO Scaling Strategy:

  1. Campaign Setup:

    • 1 Campaign

    • 10 Ad Groups at $40 each

    • Goal: Set to "Complete payment"

    • Platform: Only TikTok

    • Ad Settings:

      • Downloading: Off

      • Sharing: On

      • Comments: Optional (Manage throughout the day)

      • Targeting: Broad

      • Start Time: Set for midnight

CBO Scaling Strategy:

  1. Campaign Setup:

    • 5 Campaigns at $50 each

    • 10 Ad Groups per Campaign

    • Goal: Set to "Complete payment"

    • Platform: Only TikTok

    • Ad Settings:

      • Downloading: Off

      • Sharing: On

      • Comments: Optional (Manage throughout the day)

      • Targeting: Broad

      • Start Time: Set for midnight

Scaling Guidelines (For Both ABO and CBO):

  • Break Even ROAS: Determine your Break Even ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) using this calculator. Cut ad groups that are underperforming or do not meet the break-even ROAS.

  • Optimization post-12pm:

    • Profitable Ad Groups: Every 30 minutes after 12 PM (your time zone), optimize your profitable ad groups:

      • ROAS above 2.8: Increase budget by $100

      • ROAS below 2.8: Increase budget by $50

  • Horizontal Scaling: Expand on winning campaigns or ad groups by duplicating them to target new audiences.

Day 2: Expanding & Refreshing

  1. Campaign Copying:

    • For ABO: Duplicate your best-performing campaigns (aim for 5-10 new campaigns).

    • For CBO: Duplicate your top-performing campaigns (aim for 10-20 new campaigns).

  2. Scaling Process:

    • Continue to repeat the same rules as Day 1, focusing on budget adjustments and cutting unprofitable ad groups.

  3. Creative Refresh:

    • To sustain growth, constantly refresh your creatives and test new variations while scaling further.

  4. Further Scaling:

    • Continue creating new campaigns daily, increasing budget as needed while keeping a sharp eye on performance metrics.

Key to Success:

  • Consistency: Repeating these steps while adjusting based on performance is crucial.

  • Creative Testing: Constantly refresh creatives and test new variations to avoid ad fatigue.

  • Scaling: Focus on both vertical (increasing budgets) and horizontal (duplicating successful campaigns) scaling for long-term growth.
