Enabling Future of Fitness with Fit4Dance

Laci Chisholm is making the future of fitness a whole lot of fun for everyone. Her ambitious nature, and smooth dance moves are making a major impact in her community. Now, after winning the Lenovo Evolve Small grand prize, mentorship, and top-of-the-line tech, she has the knowledge and equipment necessary to support her growing business.  

In 2014, the dedicated NYC dancer wanted to create a fun and inclusive space for fitness that was also affordable and accessible to African-American women and children in Brooklyn; with that mission in mind, Fit4Dance was born.  

Since opening her doors, Laci has skyrocketed into success, winning numerous awards, which include being named Entrepreneur of the Year by the SBA (Small Business Administration) for the state of New York, as well as the Women’s Business Outreach Center. Plus, Fit4Dance was recognized by the City of New York as an Honoree in the 2017 Best for NYC Campaign in the Community category in Brooklyn. This award helped Fit4Dance become a Certified B Corporation, a prestigious achievement for businesses solving social and environmental problems.

Laci’s success and passion for fun fitness inspired her to expand her business. Now, her studio is closer to public transportation, at a much larger location, with two dance studios, more equipment and other amenities to enhance client experience.  

While expanding to a new space, and the prospect of offering more classes to new clients is exciting, it also came with some technological challenges, as most of Laci’s tech equipment was outdated.
