A Pro Community Idea for Young Entrepreneurs

Discussion

This idea was inspired by my niece. She ran her first neighborhood lemonade stand when she was 5 or 6 years old, donating the proceeds to charity. Soon after, she began selling homemade jewelry from the stand as well—custom-made to order. Now, she’s in the process of opening an online store to sell custom-made slime and slime accessories.

That got me thinking: it could be interesting for Lenovo Pro to launch something similar to the Small Business Grant, but specifically for young entrepreneurs. It might even be broken into a few age-specific categories, like under 13, 13–17, and 18–21—or perhaps based on school levels: elementary, middle school, high school, and college. This could also be a great collaboration opportunity with Lenovo EDU.

To go a step further, Lenovo could host webinars teaching basic business skills, geared toward a younger audience. These could be livestreamed with a participating class to add an interactive element, or at least take student-submitted questions to be answered during the session.

Just a thought—but I think this could be a really interesting and valuable campaign to help teach and spotlight young entrepreneurs.

I’d love to hear what others think—do you see something like this being successful?
