  • How does a VPN open up to fraud

  • How does a VPN open up to fraud

  • Well one example of using a VPN for fraud is an employee or person with VPN access to your organization could browse the web from within your organization even though they are physically using their own computer at home. So if they committed any sort of crime, the IP address would point to your organization istead of to their home. That being said, there are ways to still identify who by router logs, cookies, etc, but this may be a tactic people use to hide activities they don't want traced to them by performing those from behind their corporate network. Another example is that an untrusted 3rd party VPN company could actually be monitoring your traffic, which may be less secure than using no VPN at all. Plus slower. VPNs are typically used for companies to connect offices or allowing remote workers access to servers and printers at the office, etc. But individuals now use VPNs to hide their browsing habits, which like i said, its not foolproof and will slow down your internet. Hope this answers your question.
