    There's a local coffee shop/bike shop called the Bean Peddler (thebeanpedaler.com). Living in the foothills of the Rockies, our town has a lot of mountain bikers. I like going there for casual meetings and alone time because of their atmosphere.

    Theres not really any "Mom and Pop" Shops near me, but I do try to support small business such as these when i can

    HairPlus in Linden, NJ.  Sell all types of hair care products and also wigs made from natural hair.

    Local specialty stores, especially for plumbing or electrical parts are the best. There is usually a very old man behind the counter who knows everything there is to know about what it is you are looking for. You bring in a part that you are trying to replace and he will know exactly what it is and how to fix it.

    Chit Chaat Cafe, Vienna VA, Indian street food in a MOBIL gas station. Mom and pop are owners and prepare all food personally.
