Costs probably rising for a while

Amazon’s AWS will start charging ~$3/mo for network IP addresses in Feb.  I think we’ll see an increase across the board on monthly fees in the sector as everyone chases more MRR in the space.  Now that most places are down with on-prem servers and skilled IT staff or even environments, the cloud vendors have the leverage to move prices upward.

  • At this point, yes.  Most SMBs can’t do the environmental and business continuity stuff in an affordable way, and any small event can sink you.
